i have just finished rebuilding my wr250 1974 and the clutch pull is very stiff, wondering how normal that is (springs thightened about 1-2 threads out of the nuts) also clutch seems very draggy. how normal was clutch drag on these engines? all the plates and fibers look great.

Did you check your steel plates for flatness?

Sometimes they can bow, and if you don't put them back in the same way around, this can cause drag.

You'll need a flat plate (sheet of glass is useful) or good straight edge and perhaps a feeler gauge to check.

Mine doesn't drag, I can select neutral whilst stationary with the engine running.

Also, make sure you use the correct gear oil, too thick an oil could cause drag.
