I am installing the clutch cable on my 71 400 (MI) frame..

would someone please post a photo or explain the position of the locking nut on the clutch side (end with the spring)...
basically clutch cable has a threaded shaft that fits into a slot under the engine & the cable attaches to the clutch lever (under the engine)my question: is the nut before or after the "slot"?

    hope I explained well,..

without that spring, it will drag.

I am having some problems with the routing of the cables (clutch & throttle)
they are getting pinched at the frame neck/handlebar area... any comments about routing?
