I am looking at securing a 701. I seek guidance on the manufacturers guidance on 10,000km oil changes. I note that the engine oil capacity is a mere 1.6 litres. Is this a realistic propostion.

    Many Thanks

The bike has multiple oil filters, and while I won't push it that far, I don't see a reason that the manufacturer has not done their homework and felt it was ok

hey mate. I have an SM so same engine. they are the recommended intervals but no harm in changing the oil twice in that timeframe if you're concerned. the only thing I'd suggest is getting a 2018+ as a lot of people are reporting cam shaft wear on the earlier models. the 2018 onwards had an updated design. not much news on the 701s here but there is a monster thread on advrider where many cam shaft issues are being reported.
