• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

630 sm fuel problem.....

TardMan630

Husqvarna
B Class
My 2011 630 sm with 1200 miles, P/U, unrestricted airbox and fmf pipe. The bike will cutout and start lugging down while riding and the low fuel light comes on (plenty of gas in the tank) It usually only does it for about 5 seconds and then quits. The problem started about a week after the first service was done and when i was still running stock pipes.

Has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be? maybe debris in the gas tank? or bad fuel?

Well i checked all the wiring (none melted) and the fuses and everything seemed to be fine until the ride home from work this morning. About halfway home it started the cutting out and low fuel light came on but this time it didn't stop, it lasted for a good 2 miles and then I noticed my headlight was flashing as it was doing this. Well after about another mile of riding down the road with headlight flashing and bike violently jerking as it can't decide to go or stall out, it finally picks up and takes off and the low fuel light turns off and all seems fine but then I notice my headlight is completely out. So I get home and now it won't crank and the fuel pump is sounding different then what i remember so im taking her in to the dealer.

I hope it doesn't take to long to sort out this problem as I was planning a trip to the dragon in a week.

Voltage regulator, maybe? A voltage spike could pop the headlight, do weird things to the fuel pump and make your fuel sensor malfunction...

yea it could be that, guess ill found out soon enough as im dropping it off tomorrow morning. Where is the voltage regulator?

Got a call from the dealer today, the problem is the rectifier regulator. New one should be in next week.

Glad you got it sorted out. Thought I was going to have a ride over to help you figure it out!

Another possibility to look out for is that sometimes the fuel pump may move past the clips that hold it in it's housing inside the tank.
This will result in reduced fuel pressure.
There is a thread on this forum for relating to a TE450 / TE510 I think it was that shows the problem and how to fix. (TE510 etc have the same fuel pump system as the 630)
