    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I currently have the standard header with the Akra pipe on it. Im looking at getting an aftermarket front header. I cant seem to find the akra front header anywhere? but I can find the FMF megabomb header and the Arrow header with extra can on it.

Has anyone fitted the above to the akra pipe? are either of the above better than the other? ie yields more power lowers the DB rating? The arrow header is twice as much as the FMF so that is a factor to consider.
 
I use the TC449 megabomb with the fmf 4.1rct factory blue silencer. For power, this is the best setup. Akro makes a high end setup that is very nice as well.
 
Has anyone run an uncorked 449/511 without a megabomb header, then changed ONLY that, and run with the megabomb? What is the opinion? Truly noticeable power increase? Quieter?

Do you mean with a decatted OEM muffler and megabomb combo?
 
I guess the question is... has anyone just added a megabomb header and noticed a difference. A lot of times the entire header/silencer combo is changed but that doesn't really tell you if the header itself has a noticeable change. So, yes, with a decatted OEM or with an aftermarket slip on... whatever. Just want to know if the header ONLY has been changed by anyone with a noticeable difference.

It's about a 7 percent gain, roughly 3 to 4hp gain around 3200 rpm's depending on the other modifications you have made.
