For some reason my new 310 has a clutch that chatters.
OTOH, the clutch on my 2010 Te250 is well used but it is smooth as silk.
Did Husky change the clutch basket on the newer bikes and will the extra clutch I have for my 250 fit on my 2012 310?

    Thanks

The new bikes have a cast clutch basket with questionable tolerances and rubber cushions to dampen vibes. It isn't uncommon for them to chatter, especially with a Rekluse but I gather you aren't running one. It really doesn't hurt anything but if it bothers you there are billet baskets that you can replace it with that make a noticeable improvement. I chose the Rekluse basket which was very high quality and has it's own style rubber cushion system. Smooth and quiet. Hope this helps.

    Don't know!

Just bought bike and PO ran a rekluse and put the stock basket back in.

I wonder if my 2010 250 basket will bolt in?

mine had almost 1/2 in of free play and the bushings were hard as glass and broken. these engines run super hot and help cook those OEM cush drive bushings. I did this mod to my 2011 TE310 and my 2013TXC310R, it needs to be done.

I was going to say it sounds like your clutch rubbers are either shot or have been warped. The other thing is oil, if you run too heavy of an oil, the clutch plates do not obtain enough oil molecules between them and will chatter until warmed up. By running a multi-weight like 0W40, the clutch begins functioning smooth sooner.

So when I change the oil I will go with the same 0/40 i now use in my 2010 250. If that does not work...off to zipTy

What I cannot understand is why the 2010 with WAAAAY more time on it has a smooth stock clutch and the new 2012 310 clutch chatters.

Does anyone know if the later baskets are made differently.
