    Hello everybody!
Became a member of this forum today and this is my first post, I write with the help of Google translating program when my English is barely readable.

Anyway, I bought myself a husqarna 250 cr 1977 and frame number and engine number corresponds precisely 250cr 1977 model year.

My thoughts revolve around, being on top of them rear shock absorber fastening engines so it sits a few extra moves that go on up into the frame at the front edge of the seat, of course, I understand that this is to reinforce the right judgment upper shock absorber fastening engines but this is done in from the factory or retrofitted.

I have been looking like crazy all over the internet but then not been able to find any 250cr 1977 with the same konstruktion.så I hope someone can help me to sort out this delicate kostruktion.

Accompany it with a couple of pictures of what it looks like. 003.JPG 004.JPG

The extra bracing is NOT stock, but still very well done. Note your 77 has non stock rear shocks too, those type
of Ohlins shocks didn't come out until 1979, & frame should be silver not white, if that matters to you.

If it was my bike I'd leave the bracing on, & just paint the frame the original color, I always
    like period modifications.

I agree with Ruwfo, let it be. That was probably added to create more support for the shock mounts when tracks got faster and landings became more brutal. I had to weld repair the sub frame on a 1983 500CR because of that type of damage . Break was thru the diagonal support just below the seat mounting.

If you acquired the bike in Sweden, there is a strong possibility it was a pre production prototype from the factory to develop the next generation frame series. They always started with modifications to production model for testing before building a true prototype.

    Welcome to the forum.
Anymore pictures of the complete bike?

That extra brace puts the up thrust of the shock mount into the rest of the upper frame.
It reduces a bending, flexing moment.

Look at the corner near the point of the air box cover. There seems to be gusset on both sides of the frame? I don't remember seeing them on my '77? I could be wrong.

    That's a stock 77 & 78 250CR pipe, but it's got a additional silencer

You can contact the Husqvarna museum and they can answer you if it is a works bike, the name of the first owner...... You just supply them with the frame number.
They will charge you for the information, don't really know how much it is.

Have you checked the Swedish husqvarna forum ?
The activity is not so high, but you might find some answers for your questions there too.
