240's... Why?

    We've been through this before but, as I get my plated '83 250WR back on the road, why did they make a 240 for a few years? Some displacement rule or ???

    First because tax + 240 cc !
    in Europe
    France ,Spain,germany .....!
    and others !!
    tax standart in France is 19 %
    and + 240 cc is 33 % ! (TVA tax)
    only 80 s' !

    I thought it was1984 fim rule for racing..max o/s was 250 cc so everyone dropped back to allow for o/s?

    as I recall oversize is 250, they start out at 247 or something like that

    yes ! and after HUSQVARNA/CAGIVA = 260 cc possible ,
    because class race 250/500 cc ISDT FIM .......!
