    Hi there,
My son has recently bought a used anniversary edition 2014 TE250R.
We've removed the exhaust baffle and mesh from the air box. It has had the red inlet trumpet opened up also.

I was wondering if it had been set to power mode in the ecu, and have been able to borrow a HST from an ex-dealer friend, however it gets to the point of upload and says 'communication is impossible'!

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the Keihin injected red Husky?

I can't offer any real experience. I assume you had the bike running or the ECU powered-up some other way (Power Relay maybe); the keyless feature is a pain in the ass.

A guy in Sweden (Robbe??) was having similar issues... maybe he'll chime in if he solved it.

Oh yeah: drill out that plugged-up air filter cage or get the TXC/TC one (~$3usd here) if you haven't already.

Air filter cage is the open type.

The HST powers up the ecu via jumper leads to the battery and states in the software to have the engine at rest.

Bit of a bugger having the power up and Leo Vince maps staring you in the face and being unable to load them.

Check your settings on the computer for the USB port. I believe the software setup instructions can help with that.
You can also see on the HST box if it's communication is clear or obstructed just like a nic card.

Yes, I have the correct USB port etc set, have been through the same operations with the TE449 and have no issues.
Using the correct jump lead set to power up the 250 ecu I get right through until trying the upload where the failure occurs

The only other thing is to try different models. US instead of Europe for instance. I've had a couple of instances where the only way to load a map was to pick Euro over US. Weird but works...sometimes.

    Cheers.
Unfortunately, I've had to return the HST to my dealer friend.
I'll give that a run next time.

No longer require the HST for the 449-511.
Sooooo good to be able to view data and tune freely.

Most dealers (in OZ) would sell these bikes with full power map loaded, not ADR map. They reckon full power map works best with stock muffler AND DB killer installed and only go to the open pipe map if you have an open pipe. Dealer also told me the stock muffler ID is too large after the 'welded in' baffle is cut out and best to replace the core with a smaller ID if modifying the stock muffler to 'straight through'. The te250r core size is something like 25% larger than the motocross tc250r core...

Open pipe map with an open pipe is the way to go :)
    Just a bit loud.

You could always do the "boogie mod" to the stock pipe lol
