  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Okay, I know everyone is dying to know what the new bikes like. One word, F***ING EPIC! I know, that's two words but what the hell. I've only ridden it on the street, so I can't give an honest opinion as to how it will be on the dirt but it looks promising! Feels about the same, weight wise, as my 250 but with more grunt, even with the 40 tooth rr. sprocket. It should be real potent with the optional 50 it came with! My 250 currently has a 51 on it.

That being said, I think I'm in lust. Here's hoping it turns into true love! CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT IN THE DIRT!

O.K. so here's what I like, and what I don't

Likes; (not necessarily in order)

#1. Fuel Injection (at last)!

#2. Light

#3. Fit & finish

#4. Plate

#5. Ergos

#6. Power

#7. Throttle response

#8. Excellent lights

#9. The Button

#10. Kick start

Not likes;

#1. Fit & finish (sorry, the Euro bikes still don't match the Japanese)

#2. Ergos (man, this thing has a Tant spanker that matches my 250) may be better with break-in. Also consider I've only ridden it on the street with Levi's.

#3. Turn signals (I already broke one just getting off the bike)!

Anyway, these are just my initial feeling after doing 17 miles on the street.

More to come.
:applause:

I bummed a ride on one last week. Nice bottom end power. Will not rev like the 250 on top though. Good power for enduros. Feels heavier than the TC250 quite a bit.

Starts instantly, FI runs good...Not BERG Good but very good indeed:busted:

I stopped by Motoxotica today... was hoping to see the bike... but apparently you are already having fun with it. :)

Any thoughts to the tires?

Looks like you got a good one, is it stock? Is the power up kit on yet?

Cut that tit off the kick stand bolhead, I saw that Dan did it, so I did it too, much better.

That 40 tooth looks funny on the bike. Even my txc came with one of those but, the dealer threw it in the box of stuff along with the chain. Glad the FI appears to be straight for you. The quicker you snap those stock blinkers off, the more off rode 'cred you get, IMO :D

Good to hear you got one. I've been pestering my dealer for months and they haven't called saying they got one in.

Have a blast with it.

They just look like heaven on wheels don't they. I would get the tappet cover repainted red, I reckon it was the ducks guts in red.

cycle gear has amber mini blinkers for about $20. if you look real close you'll see one in the photo. i put them on the rear of all my bikes.

they technically don't meet code, but we don't get hassled up here.

man that bike was clean before i finished the break in. i trimmed off the license plate bracket and mounted the plate 90°

I have had mine for about 4 weeks and already have 3 decent rides under my belt.
Coming off a 2001 WR250, I can say the weight is about the same.
Mine is de-restricted (full power up), has all the blinkers etc removed, but registered (the cops don't bother us too much in the bush down here in OZ as long as it is registered).
I have the 50 tooth on the back, but went to a 14 tooth at the front (found first a little too low), bar risers as I am 6ft tall and found the original setting a bit low while standing, a bash plate and radiator guards and I absoluteley love it.
Done 5 hrs/170kms and it is just starting to free up and the suspension is getting better and better.
Power is AWESOME, handling spectacular due to the light weight, not too loud with the de-restricted baffle, and I think it is a perfect trail riders weapon.
Rob.

The only thing I didn't like about my '09 was the slow-revving overall nature of the bike and the lack of overrev. I was expecting it to be like a big-bore Jap 250F, which it wasn't at all. It's a great little bike but I did expect more in the motor department. I sold mine after about 4 months of good trail. I loved the Husky package however.

You do realize this is a totally different motor and chassis than the 2009 & 2010 ?

Yep. but they just keep getting better. I am delighted with my 2010 and not sorry I missed the 2011. That said the 2011 is a notch above the previous model (as should be expected).
I find them great in the tight after the TE 450 (old bloke), Its simply a case of horses for courses.

I have been riding my 2011 te 310 for a month now and I gotta say it kicks ass!
I derestricted it before I even started it.
It has plenty of bottom and mid range. It feels on par with my rm 250 in the power department.
It feels light and flickable to ride.
I just put the Rekluse in it tuesday and cant wait to ride this sunday!!!
I lowered it 1 inch and cut the stock seat to make it a stepper.
However I have been only snow riding on spiked tires I can say the stock shock and fork springs are a bit undersprung and the shock will need a minor re-valve to slow the rebound dampening a bit more. I am 5'8 160lbs pro level off-road racer
interested in hearing others reviews

I just figured that out tonight. 2 totally different motors = 2 different bikes altogether. I would like to try a new '11 small-bore Husky.

I've cleaned up the rear-end & moved the rear signals forward.
Expect they will break off at some point, so then will replace them with some flush-mounts.
Installed the Husky optional short seat, which I think makes the bike almost low enough for me (5'10", 32" inseam, intermediate old slow guy).
May decide to have our local suspension guy drop it another inch or so.

Tried installing an Enduro Engineering rad-brace from the 2010 model, but it wouldn’t fit.
The tank & fan are different.
Anybody know of a rad-brace to fit the 2011?

The EE skid plate also would not fit the new frame.
Hyde Racing says that theirs fits the 2011, so have one on order.
I actually wanted to try one anyway, seems like a good product, tho not pretty.

Have Symtech heated grips ordered, then will install the Cycra CRM bark-busters that are sitting on the bench.
Also have an EE shark-fin waiting to install as well as a set of TuBliss and a rear Pirelli trials tire.

Another big question in my mind is gearing; the bike came with a 40 and a 50 rear sprocket.
That’s a big spread.
Anybody sorted gearing yet?

Congrats!

I'm replying to you using some info from a 2010 TXC, which is the same frame and base engine minus a few cc and electrical equipment. My Bullet Proof Designs rad guard/braces fit from my 08 510 to my 250 and I was surprised. Motosportz makes a nice aluminum skid plate for this model. Once again, I'm assuming these parts will fit due to our commonality of frames. I am using EE's rear shark fin assembly with great results, it's taken many major hits and installs easily to replace the original rear caliper mount as well. Hyde was too damn slow for me on their skid plate so I went with Kelly's and have not regretted it one bit.

My TXC came with a 40 tooth and chain. My dealer had already swapped it out for a 50th and chain when I arrived to pick it up. Must be an emissions or customs thing :excuseme:

I bet that bike just RIPS****************************************!

What is up with that oil hose that routes on the bottom side of the '11 310? Where does it lead to? Is the drain plug in the same place as the 2010 250?

Someone on here said that the P3 may fit with a little modification, do you think that is true?

By the way, love your footpegs and Carbon Bits.
