Hi all,
I know from previous research that the factory dash is junk. So I should have been prepared for this. But in summary the bike has randomly added mileage to the ODO (it added 2000km on the way the last MOT!). This was following a stalling issue that was due to a low battery and also a failing clutch mcyl (since rebuilt). That's now on the official GOV records for my bike as the garage/shop have to record the displayed mileage. I don't know of any way to correct it back and it makes me distrust the mileage already on it prior to me purchasing. It's in great condition supporting the over estimated mileage!
The neutral light has stopped working as well, although the dash will still mostly say "n" when neutral is selected. But not always. Haha.
Sometimes the dash also says FAIL when firing up. Finally, the single control button's rubber cap fell apart so I found a blind grommet that fitted snugly in its place.
None of these issues have affected the starting or riding but I just wondered if any UK riders in particular have found a solution using locally available parts and expertise, as I'm no electrician. Have read of various dashes fitted in the states. You guys over there seem to have a wider choice, less strict regulations on roadworthy testing etc and I'd also like to retain as much as possible of the factory functions (like ODO, trips, neutral indicator etc).
Thanks in advance!
