    hey guys,

    Just found a 2009 510 that's been sitting since 2012.

I have changed oil and filters etc, spark plug, air filter.

Is there anything else i do before i try start it?

Radiators are still full, ill replace this if it a runner.

    Cheers

Sounds like a nice find mate.

I'd suggest you clean and flush out fuel tank and fuel line and replace the fuel filter. Hopefully the fuel injector's not gummed up. If it is it can be cleaned out, you'll find how people have done it with a search on this forum.

Once it's running you should replace brake fluid and fork oil, grease linkages, swing arm and head stem bearings. A shock service would be a good idea too.

FYI a lot of parts for your bike can be sourced from SWM (RS500R). There are some differences but most are the same.

Were you able to locate the connector for the optional double-mode button (8000H0590) behind the headlight? If not, these wire might be from that button connector. I'm not able to find it on the wiring diagram, so I cannot confirm the wire colors, but it is actually there...

Those wires may be for the speed sensor.

I just connected to Ibeat and its done 58hrs.

Should I worry about the water pump seals or wait and see ?

I pulled off the water pump cover and looked very clean no oxidation etc

That looks like the dual mode connector indeed. In that case I don't know what the loose wires are for...

Without the switch it will automatically select mode SEL1, which is the full power mode. Personally I don't ride in conditions where I would like to have LESS power. So I don't miss it...
