  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 2008 WR250 reed petal replacement

Hi Guys new to café husky and so far have found some really useful info thanks,
My problem is that one of my reed valve petals is broken and having trouble finding replacement petals. One thread says that the arctic cat zr 800 02-05 reed petals will fit my bike and that their cheaper and thicker/better. I went to arctic cat and when I searched for the reed petals the parts diagram showed them to have three leafs per petal my bike only has 2. Stamped on the vforce assembly block is DM 05 can anyone please help me to determine what/where I can get some replacement petals. My local husky dealer is only interested in selling me the whole assembly at $300. If someone has a link to a supplier it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like I could be in the same boat needing some reeds. I know that I've seen this topic on CH but can't find it now. If we don't get any feedback, it would be worth a call to Toy Tech in PA (717)469-9484 or Hall's in ILL (217)789-0107.

interesting read, but seems VF2 not others, but read for yourself as research is better than buying parts that are useless for your particular bike

I have the V Force 2 in my 2008. I tried the V Force 3, but it would not fit. I just ordered new reeds for the V2 from Dennis Kirk. They are for the Honda CR250, PN2P110-1 (or Dennis Kirk part # 180985). I'll post back as far as fit goes when I receive them .

Thanks guys I have sent a email to moto tassinari if I don't hear back I will try the CR reed petals so powerkord it would be great if you have success if you could let me know. Seems strange that for a part that needs regular/periodical replacement it's so hard to find. Anyway when I find the right reed petals I will also post all the details of where I got them or part numbers.

PowerKord, the outside of my reed box reads Vforce. How did you know that you needed the Vforce 2 reeds? I haven't pulled anything apart yet as I'm still researching what my possible problems could be.

If you have the grey colored V Force it's the V Force 2, the V Force 3 is black and labeled V Force 3. I think my new reeds are supposed to arrive from DK tomorrow. Hopefully I can tear into it tomorrow and I'll post my results.

These are the reeds I got from Dennis Kirk along side the originals, they are a direct replacement for the V Force 2. The kit also comes with new reed stops. It is my understanding that the reed stops on the V2 can be flipped over to change the reed tension. The original ones seem to be set for lower tension. I'll probably leave them in that configuration.DSCF0617.JPG

Do you know what year(s) Honda CR250 cylinder they fit? 92-01 or 02-07?
