  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2007 Te 450 Trail Tech Stator conversion question.

UberKul

Husqvarna
AA Class
I mumbled this at the end of another thread in the Motorsportz section but figured I better try again for the whole class to hear.
:professor:
1. I've installed the new Trail Tech stator and am now stumped at the regulator. Can anyone tell me which wires to splice? The flat terminal connector is the OEM and the square one with 2 yellows is the Trail Tech.

2. Since this will now be DC and my 2007 TE 450 has no keyed switch I am assuming I will need to wire in a switch/disconnect directly to the main positive at the battery?

3. The KTM instructions that came with the parts indicate cutting and splicing wires on the main harness under the tank to convert to 100% AC but I do not know if/what wires would be involved on the Husky?

A Holiday weekend is not the best time to start a project that is a couple pay grades over your head.

I believe it should be;

Red - 12VDC
Blue - Frame Ground
Yellow - Stator AC
White - Stator AC

connecting to the regulator like this...

Red - Red
Yellow - Yellow
Yellow - White
Black - Blue

Later,

Pics explain it so much easier... sorry for the pic quality.

The locking clip for the connector is at 12 o clock.

Baja Designs did all the modifications. Thanks Diego & Jose
