I found a 2007 TC 450 very cheap. Are there any things to look out for on these bikes? The little bit I found on them the people like them but there is very little information out there that I could find. Do they make a decent woods bike for singletrack riding?
Any info or personal experiences would be great. Thanks!

solid motor but a lil heavy for an MX bike but its well built. easy to maintain easiest thumper ever. valves are a snap and take 15 mins. with the tank off. fist gear is kinda tall for hard enduro but for woods if its not too technical you should be fine. nice lump real good torque pulls like a train. turns well too. GP Moto in San Deigo was the go-to for the TC 450 back in the day. Paul Lima a total class act they sill do husky maybe give them a call if ya need something. they sell used race parts too and usually have stuff laying around good old school techs there. Uptite is also the TC authority not sure if George is still around aint talked to him in a few years. pull the air box take it apart and glue it back together as ya would any MX bikes for off-road. use a carb vent filter. rad guards are a good idea if ya ride rocks and a real good bash plate too. but def go through the valves and check the cams should be fine. use a new air filter each time or every couple of rides on a thumper it's cheap insurance washing filters breaks them down yer fine for one or two but i toss mine after one or two cleanings.

oh i totally forgot! ....pull the air cleaner and check down in the boot. if there is ANY grit in there getting past the filter...or the filter is nasty....pass. sorry- forgot to mention this. hope im not too late...sorry man...

The bike has had a 3 wheeler conversion on it. I would get it converted back to 2 wheels, but having been a 3 wheeler, who knows what else is messed up. I have decided to pass on it and just continue to enjoy my 310.

Pretty odd looking and he cut the fenders. Has all the bike parts still, though and fenders are cheap. So.... I feel like I need to rescue it, kinda like the sad dogs at the pound...

well, not like i was imagining... doesn't look like a permanent conversion. And I doubt you could keep the front wheel on the ground.

    but- yeech.

worth saving if you could get for a steal tho.

I know, but I feel like I need to save it! Haha!
I can get it for less than $1,000. Still don't need a 4th bike and I'm sure it would be a lot of work.

But don't they all deserve a chance?? Don't worry. I have my TXC310, klx300 and a GasGas ec250. Enough work to do keeping them perfect without adding this messed up thing to the stable.

    yes to a point.

good thinkin bro cuz some projects are best left unstarted.

i know what ya mean its in me to try n save them all but at some point i tell the client unless ya have an extreme emotional tie to it it's not worth the thousands of $$$ itll take to make it right. esp on a butchered rig like that one that poor things a tossed salad whata mess!

    Under a $1000? it's a steal....

If it's mechanically sound, bolted together (not hacked, not welded), and the original parts come with it- as you indicate.

    pick it up.

for a motocross engine, the 450 makes a good wood's bike.

I'd get it, while it's still winter (hah- no snow on the ground here, 68° here in the Cascades. the riding has been off the hook; the local ski resort just shutdown for the season). The price will jump back up in the spring.

I wish I could be dirt biking.... High of 7 above today and we have had a lousy snow year so snowmobiling hasn't been good.
