I just picked up a few of the Italian Huskies. Have a few of the newer KTMs and a 14 Husaberg TE300.

This 2005 TC250 looks to be an extremely low hour machine. Pulled the top end apart. So clean.
Will replace the piston and valveseals while its apart. The connecting rod is tight of course. No heat discoloration. Still got to split the cases the rest of the way down.

Really don't want to use another OEM rod kit if possible. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated on this project.

Also need to post a pic up of a spring that came out of something on the clutch side as I was taking it apart. About the size of an ink pen spring. No idea where it came from.

    Thanks

Hi, Im sure that PRO-X make con rods for the TC 250. also it might be worth checking Wosener.

Do you have any pics you can share of your 05? I picked up an 05 myself last month...I would be interested to see it!

Hard to see in the pictures but bike is in really good condition. I got a fender on it now. Radiators are all cleaned and on with the bikes radiator braces it came with. Ordered an Athena gasket and seal kit and Wossner piston. Shame the crank has to come out. Haven't had much luck finding an OEM crank or a rod kit online. The last piece of this puzzle.

You may have a hard time finding any rod for the 2005. I know the 2004 models require a crank and piston swap to the newer stuff.

Great info Been told to use the 06-09 crank that requires the newer piston. Before buying anything going to send this original 05 crank to Crank works in AZ. Hoping the pin and bearing can be done.

I got a used 08 crank and a new Wossner rod kit. Still need to get an 06-09 Wossner piston kit. Be glad just to get the lower end together for now.

Indeed a 310 kit would be nice. I just want the bike to run stock and be reliable. Won't have to jet it and or have any cooling issues. Plan to ride it in the desert some and rocky mine areas here in NV. Nothing special. Have the two strokes for the faster stuff. It probably wont have tons of power but that's ok.

Since you have to buy a piston and barrel there is no reason not to go with the 310. After all this is what husky offered stock on later models. There are no cooling issues and it is not any less reliable than a 250. Just a little more bottom end and midrange to torque around with. Perfect for trail riding.

Hell I sell you my 250 top end for half of new with only 630mi on since new and I'll buy the 310 kit. Just can't justify it with such a new motor right now. Only reason.

I don't need a barrel. The stock one is fine. No damage. Cylinder head going to clean it up. Lap the valves and new seals. Engine didn't blow up. Just the rod bearing.

Just sent off the 08 crank and the Wossner to get pressed in and balanced. May get a new timing chain set. Unreal how new this engine is inside. Even the clutch looks like it was never run. Gears. All of it.

Crank I got was new. Guess it was a disassembled stock engine the shop selling all the parts had. So I have an 06-09 stock rod for sale if anyone needs one. Got a new Wossner rod kit pressed in and balanced the crank. Wossner piston kit. Now to get it all assembled.
May sell the original 05 crank. Needs a new rod obviously. Didn't break. Big end bearing.
