  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 2004 CR/WB165 Build Thread

Hoov165x

Husqvarna
AA Class
I picked up a 2004 CR125 with very low hours on it a few weeks ago for $1,500. The bike was hardly ridden, however in true Hoov165x fashion I couldn't resist a complete teardown and customization to my liking. I will post more during the following week or two as I assemble this project. Many thanks to Walt and Kelly at Motosportz for all the goodies and inspiration! I didn't take many pictures before I tore it down, but here are a few. Hardly any wear on the mag cover..006.JPG 002.JPG004.JPG

Very nice, looked like new when you started.
It inspires me to keep checking CL for deals. They are hard to score in this area though, cuz Kelly, Blake, Tim, PC etc etc are looking at the same ads. :excuseme:

Looking good Mike.

Mike (The OP) rode my 04 once and 3 days later bought this 04 to build up exactly like mine. I guess he liked my bike. :)

If only it said husqvarna on it some more. And really! I spend years setting up a bike, you use all my setup and the 165 kit and the Lectron and my suspension settings and my plastic and my color and not one Motosportz on the graphix!!! I'm not going to wait for you at the intersections.

Now this one is stunning

Stunning it is! Where would you like the advertising to go? Still in the design process. Send me a file with your logo.

Seat not until later. I want to ride soon and the seat is custom and takes time.

:)

That bike is a trail thrasher. I Beat it relentlessly. The graphics are coming off, the plastic is thrashed, stuff is zip tied on, she is no show queen.

Well, it's coming along. Now all I need is some time to finish it. Having an issue with the Cemoto tank shrouds- the right side will not work on the IMS tank. The stockers bolt up fine, so it is not the tank, although the Cemoto shrouds could be made to fit on the stock tank with a little massaging. Not sure what to do here as I need the IMS tank, but don't want yellow shrouds.

I am thinking that pipe isn't going to last long............it really hangs down.
