• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1995 ignition timing?

RonC

Husqvarna
Hi,

Anyone know what is the correct ignition timing on a '95 610TE? Appears to be about 7deg BTDC with a timing light. Does not advance much with increase in RPM.

Thanks,
Ron.

Timing was set at factory.
They then put the tick marks on motor and ign at that time.
Usually around 9 static or idle, should get 20 more with revs.
Later George

Find TDC Comp stroke look at flywheel then at a tapped bolt hole on motor.
I usually use upper rh bolt hole mark this ( light chisel mark over hole) then mark flywheel (center punch or chisel mark, scribe)
Now you have something to hit the timing light with.

Later George

I hit it with the light and it advances.. thanx george .
I put marks . The I is idle position and the M medium throttle and the T is close to top revs .
My neigh ors where outside so I didnt over rev too much.

Im thinking its closer to 7 degrees. Right now at idle. I will advance it tonight .. thanks for helping with this.
I was calling you( 2weeks ago.. )it has the aftermarket stator(st5051L) and cdi and coil(cd5004) .
The pic is sideways. Sorry about that

Hi Guys,

Paint the timing marks you have made with correction fluid or white paint, just enough to fill the marks, this will make them

easier to see with the timing light.

Cheers, Dave.

Great tip thanks. I did advance the timing a hair or two and it runs smoother and more powerful.
I must be getting closer to the factory setting.. im using my kids protracter to find the 9 degrees .
Had to weld a coil bracket on and zip tie my wires up . Then the gf family came over.. I did get it finished in time to throw a huge roost across the front yard ..:) good thing I live on an acre of dirt..
Definitly making progress .
Tomorrow I take it for a run down by the lake after work .. thanks again guys for assisting me with this husky .
I will update tommorrow night.
