    Hi guys, first post here!

    I have a wre 125 1994. I bought it 10 years ago.
It was converted to supermoto and had Keihin 36mm carb and pro circuit silencer.

After a year of commuting, the engine seized.
The bearing from the rod broke, destroying the motor. Cases, cylinder and head are useless now.

    Since then the bike sits.
3 years ago I decided to rebuild it and convert to enduro again.
I removed everything from the bike in order to start from the frame and do a full rebuild/paint.
I sourced some engine cases in good condition from a later sms model but I couldn't find any cylinder so the project stopped again.

This year I am moving house and now I m in a dilemma.
    Should I dispose it or
should I find a complete working wr/cr 125 and swap frames to keep my licence plates?

If I choose the second option what model/year should I look for?
I don't mind doing minor welding but I would like to avoid major frame modifications.

    Yeah I know..
That is why I was thinking either to swap a Husqvarna 125 engine on it, or sell any good parts and dispose it.

    I found one WR125 2001
It is left in a garage for the last 4 years but according to the owner it was working
I haven't checked that in person yet.

Can I swap the motor with carb, exhaust and loom from that bike into my frame?
From a google search the frames look almost identical.

Yup grind off the numbers and stamp your frame ones on it then re paint the frame....
I'm not condoning this sort of behaviour obviously but have heard it may go on in some places.

Diggin this thread for a new question. I still have the bike, and it it still in pieces. But I found on ebay a cylinder from a wr125 1995 will this cylinder fit on my WRE 1994?
I can see that the power valve design is different from the later models and the whole cylinder looks smaller.

I dont care about power, but I want to get rid of the electric controlled power valves on mine.

    Could this work?

    so question
it has 99 tank shrouds and number plates, are you sure of anything on this
the 95 tank can use the 99 plastic but won't drop onto a 94 frame without some welding style remodel :excuseme:

you say that it may not be 94 wre??
Licence says 1994, frame no is 1AA....

I bought it exactly like that about 10 years ago, I didnt make any changes to it.

These are some pics of how it sits right now, could you tell anything about the frame?

on the 92-94 frame the rear tank mount is directly above the top shock mount and behind the subframe mount
the 95-99 is in front of the subframe mount like yours, any signs of modifications?? IMG_8885.JPG IMG_8884.JPG

It is true, mine haw the tank mount in front of the subframe but no signs of welding.
So it should be a 1995 wre then?
The licence writes 22 Aug 1994.

I dont know if it helps but the power valve was driven by 2 cables and an electric motor (which never worked since i bought it).

Something produced Aug 22 1994 would be a 1995 model. 1994 production probably ceased in may or possibly june.

    Sounds logical. Thanks.
I am still searching for parts or a donor bike.
It seems that it is a quite rare model to find parts nowadays.
