• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1983 WR 240 in Action

I see classic in the title of those videos. Does that mean classic because of the year or classic as that is a typical enduro in Germany. My idea of an enduro is having to stay on schedule going usually four tenths of a mile per minute and virtually everyone falls behind. I guess I have entered some with sort of similar portions. If that is a classic enduro I should adjust my amazment calling things like r1200gs bmw's enduro machines.

We in USA are the "different" when it comes to Enduro. FIM rules and special test stuff picturesd there. Normally a "cross" test (as seen in film clips) an "Enduro" test (more what you are thinking) and now what is called "extreme" test (very technical and tough) and now a newer Friday night thing called the "prolouge" which is best described as a marketing get folks to come to enduros side by side on a mirro imaged test where 2 riders race head to head on a manmade short test which features many "Enduro cross type" obstacles. This does bring in $ and spectators as well as it counts towrds the points in the EWC (former WEC) series.

And you thought driving on the left of the road was weird!

Joe,that's exactly right what you say! Thanks!
It was a little event in the near from my hometown, but governed by FIM rules with special test, speed test, etc. It's a typical Enduro race in Germany. With the title of those videos(classic enduro) does mean the years by the bikes.

Sorry Michel,it's not me on the 83'WR 240,but may you can see me next year on my new 510 Prototyp
