    Hi!

New member here, just bought a original 1982 WR240 which I am bringing back to life to use in vintage enduro racing. When I was googling around I noticed that there is a 240 and a 250 version that looks the same, anybody what’s different between the two? I also tried to find the specs on it but can’t find claimed HP anywhere, not that it’s important but because I’m curious.

Anyway, thanks for letting me become a member of this awesome forum. I am sure I will find lots of good information here.

    Regards,

    Hi Pierre
In France 40 years ago the VAT was 33% for bikes over 240 cm3 and 19.7% for under 240 cm3.
So HVA made 240 cm3 bikes for countries with high VAT.

About the claimed HP it is written clearly on some documents: "Enough power".

    Hi Michel,

    Thanks for the reply.
That makes sense, also the claimed power as “enough”.

Yes, at rear wheel, at engine 8000 rpm. Could seems non so much, but is a very usable power: the best torque is at 6500 rpm so you have almost 3000 rpm of 'good' power. I have a 1982 CR and I like a lot the engine, is fast and easy.
