  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC 14' FE250 Kick Start kit

racemx904

Husqvarna
Pro Class
How does this kit work? Any good?

Got to an enduro where the temp was hovering at 30 degrees.... got bike out...... crank crank crank and nothing.... finally killed battery(brand new battery)..... luckily there was a small hill I could coast down and boom fired up..... would I be able to kick start it fine.... I know it worked good on my beta....

Why the hell would a bike come without a kickstarter....

Kits work great. It's a bit of a job but not bad if you're comfortable working on bikes. I always wanted to add one to my 501 but thankfully she always fires right up with the button. I helped install one on a 350 and it wasn't bad. Try youtube, pretty sure there's some install vids outlining them.
Many new bikes including KTM's don't come with kickstart levers so the kits are an add on item. I guess they try to drop weight by eliminating them?

So long as the battery still has enough juice to power up the ECU yes. My suggestion is to try the electric start and if it won't fire quickly, switch to kick start right away to save the battery. My buddies 350 kicks over easily. This is only when its cold outside. Your bike should fire with the estart in warmer temps no problems though. If not, check the valve clearance.
