125 Water cooled clutch cover

if anyone is looking to restore a Sweedish LC 125 a friend has a NOS side cover he's looking to sell
he has a Cagiva Husky and it is not something he can use

is for this motor !
after 1983 !

16 19 849 01 is written inside the cover
looking at the 84 fische it shows that number for the side case
if you have an 84 water cooled yes
the 1985 shows 16 19 849 02 not sure what changed

The '84 part was magnesium and they changed it to aluminum for '85. They also did a recall and replaced all the magnesium '84 covers for free if you brought the bike to a dealer.

Think the recall offer still stands?

so after some research and the comments here
this fits all Swedish liquid cooled 125's
he is pretty sure it's aluminum, but the problem was maintenance not design anyway

Even with aluminum if you use the wrong coolant you will still have corrosion. Must use coolant mixed with deionized water only

Magnesium will rot no matter what kind of water/coolant you use. The only way to stop a mag cover from rotting is to use waterless propylene glycol which is what I use in my '84 KTM 125.
