Thought I'd paint up my old Scott helmet to use as a practice helmet.

This was a fast who cares how perfect it is, paint job!

Yes, automotive base coat then clear coat.

Go light on your base primer coats after you scuff your helmet up. This is second helmet I've done and too heavy of primer coverage seems to want to lift primer, even on visor.

That's prepping helmet with wax/grease remover, thorough washing and wiping down helmet with lacquer thinner lightly.

I'm finding to use three light primer coats and good drying between coats.

Thinking they might use a chemical mold releasing agent that is absorbed in the helmet.

    Thanx!

Not mine but my sons doing......It is a tribute to dad back in the day with my old number 707.

Mine is the slanted Italian Husky Racing logo top of my back, center between my shoulders.

So,guess we are a branded, die hard Husky family.

I thought guy did a good job.

I know a guy who got a viking head/helmet with "husky" written under it. Got it back in the 70's.

You may have needed to apply adhesion promoter(Bulldog). I am sure plastic rules apply to helmets as well.
