• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 610 ran out of gas without warning

baystr

Husqvarna
so my 09 610smr sputtered to a stop on the way home the other day without warning, just curious if anyone else has seen that before? When i turn the key on, I see both idiot lights on the display light up, so I know they function...............

thanks

Have you ever pulled your fuel pump and re-ty-wrapped the pump assy? Had a problem with mine slipping out just enough to only use the upper portion of the fuel pickup and it would run out of gas with plenty left. How much fuel did it take to fill it up after running out?

Had the same problem with mine. The warning light never came on and i run out of fuel.Since then i open the cap and check the fuel level. The light is still not working although it illuminates when i turn the key.I dont know what to check.Any ideas?

Pull the pump and check for the fuel pump not being totally secure and for broken wires or other parts on the fuel level sensor. Both are common problems on '08 and '09 bikes. Fix the fuel pump even if that's not the problem at present because if not permanently fixed it'll bite you eventually. Search for "slipping fuel pump" and you'll find a couple of good threads with pictures.

My low light doesn't work either. I zero the trip meter every fill up. Start looking for gas 100/120mi. mark. Carried a gallon with me once, ran it until it ran out, noted the mileage, and now..... no need for the idiot light.

Happy Trails....

PS. I'm good for adout 145mi. total give or take a little......
