So with 4 bikes down due to bike smasher (AKA me) and just selling a set of vintage stereo speakers (yes i have another addiction) for $800 I went and got this. I had seen it in CL for over a month. Kept coming down and then was gone and then back at $1100!!! Wow. Always wanted one. Called and he told me I was the only person thats ever called on it. $900 later and it is mine. VERY clean 92 WR360 which makes this the 4th big bore 2 stroke in the garage Nicely maintained, nice upgrades (wide pegs, fat bars, new piston, new clutch, new seat cover, new plastic, new Dynoport pipe etc.) , all receipts and clear title. Wife wanted it out of the garage as he already had two other bikes in there. So...
gddamit. now i really hate you. send it to me, yer just gonna smash it anyways. bud light shock resv cover?....
Thanks Walt. Your 360 at Moab has had me looking for one on the cheap ever since. Found it. Motosportz Mike has some goodies for the beast as well.
Nice one Kelly, which CL was it on? I can't talk about my CL find yet, not till I get it bought and hauled home.
Looks good. I tell you what I REALLY like this vintage husky early-mid 90's. They have great motors that are very competitive with whats available today, have the loooong range 6 speeds, come with a NICE slim low 3 plus gallon gas tank stock, low seat height, and flat work good. Oh, the narrow shrouds that don;t catch on anything and feel slim between your knees is better than the new stuff. Not near as sexy but works better. I ride my 94 WXC250 back to back with my buddies 07 WR250 and even he likes the 94 better They went more and more race bike with the new stuff and less and less do it all trail machine. The new bike is more responsive, more flickable, and more racy for sure. They hit the mark right at that time and these bikes seem to be around if you look. I can't imagine a better bike for the $$$. People ether do not understand them, think they can't get parts or something because they sit on CL for months and the price drops like a rock. I don't get that.
IMHO stock for stock the 94 might be better. Adam likes it better. It is plusher (again, less racy). Nice Showa stuff and my 94 actually have externally adjustable spring preload which really works!!! Every bike should have this. Forks I like better than the 45mm zokes which I have never loved. The shock is good on both but better on the newer bike. Oh yeah, comes with a sparky and zerks on th linkage and swingarm!!!. Ergonomics is a place where the old bike feels old. Low scooped seat, small pegs, long low feel. Tall seat, good fatbars and modern pegs largely fixes this.
